Rural/Metro Medical Services Reaccredited
Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services Recognizes Local Provider

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) – Rural/Metro Medical Services has been accredited again from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for its overwhelming compliance with national standards of excellence. Rural/Metro is the only ambulance provider in Western New York and only one of seven providers in the entire State of New York to receive this honor.

Rural/Metro successfully completed the voluntary review process, which included completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The Commission is a non-profit organization, which was established to encourage and promote quality patient care in America’s medical transportation system. The primary focus of the Commission’s high standards is high-quality patient care. This is accomplished by establishing national standards which not only address the delivery of patient care, but also the ambulance service’s total operation and its relationships with other agencies, the general public, and the medical community. The Commission’s standards often exceed state or local licensing requirements.

“This accreditation represents our firm commitment to our patients and the communities we serve”, said Rob Zachrich, General Manager of Rural/Metro Medical Services. “Our staff is the key to our successful completion of this stringent process. It gives our staff the feeling of prestige and pride to work for an accredited ambulance service”.

Rural/Metro, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, has satellite offices and ambulance bases in Amherst, Cheektowaga, Hamburg, and Niagara Falls as well as several others locations throughout Erie, Niagara and Orleans Counties. Their 550+ paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and support personnel are responsible for servicing 22 hospitals and over 100 nursing homes and health care facilities as well as the one million residents that reside in Western New York
