EMT – As an NYS-certified EMT, you and your partner will respond to emergent and non-emergent calls for patient treatment and transport. Once on the scene, you will quickly assess your patient's status, provide treatment and execute the safe transport of your patient. These treatments could range from oxygen administration to post-accident immobilization, from splinting a broken bone to performing CPR. Not certified yet? Ask about our in-house EMT program that includes hands-on skills, hospital clinic time, and ambulance ride along.
Paramedics – As a paramedic, you will utilize protocols, training, and an arsenal of advanced interventions to provide the most extensive pre-hospital care. You will start IVs, administer medications, interpret heart rhythms, jump-start the heart, and literally breathe life back into your patient. Building on your acquired skills and experiences, this expanded scope of practice will deliver a new level of job satisfaction while you make a difference in the lives of others.
Instructors – This position is responsible for instruction in various Rural/Metro sponsored courses. You will be expected to teach both one-on-one and large groups, set up classrooms, coordinate course activities, mentor students in class, and instruct in a competent and professional manner. You must be familiar with and abide by all Academic Policies as set forth by the Education Department. May include travel to off-sites with equipment. You must hold certifications in the following: EMT, AEMT-I, ACLS, PALS, BTLS, National Safety, AHA Certification and other certifications as required by specific curriculum needs. You must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, written, verbal, listening, presentation, and computer skills.
