Most people know Rural/Metro Medical Services only for our ambulance service. But did you know we offer many safety and medical training classes, like CPR training, CME Based Recertification, and Emergency Medical Dispatch Training? Rural/Metro also provides emergency stand-by service at most major area sporting and cultural events, including Ralph Wilson Stadium, Shea's Performing Arts Center, the Erie County Fair and Coca-Cola Field, to name a few.
Rural/Metro Medical Services is a firm believer in corporate community giving. In fact, our annual charitable contributions exceed $250,000. We also feel it is important to help those in need – and there is no debate that the Western New York community has a lot of need. At Rural/Metro Medical Services, we are proud of our record of community service.
EMS Special Event Stand-By Coverage
New York State Law requires Emergency Medical Services personnel at any gathering with over 5,000 attendees. Rural/Metro works with many organizations that need to secure dedicated coverage for their events. Many charitable organizations may or may not reach that attendance threshold, but sometimes cater to groups with special needs. We work with these groups to provide this service at no cost, utilizing our special skill set in a way that helps them increase their fundraising bottom line.
Financial Contributions and Sponsorships
Rural/Metro also proudly sponsors many events through corporate contributions. Although Western New York has so many great organizations worthy of our support, we have attempted to align ourselves with causes where we know we can make a difference. We support all of the area hospital foundations, the Hospice Foundation and Kids Escaping Drugs, among others.
Cheektowaga Chamber 2009 Large Business of the Year
Rural/Metro has also focused a lot of our sponsorships and charitable contributions on the Chambers of Commerce in the communities that we serve. In fact, our support for the Cheektowaga Chamber, for St. Joseph Hospital and for Town of Cheektowaga-sponsored special events is part of the reason the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce has recognized Rural/Metro as its 2009 Large Business of the Year.
We feel strongly about giving back to the community we serve. We are delighted that we have the ability to make a positive impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors.
