Rural/Metro Medical Services
A history of excellence, a tradition of caring
In 1995, Rural/Metro Medical Services acquired LaSalle Ambulance and began operations in Buffalo, NY. As a patient-focused organization, Rural/Metro is dedicated to protecting lives in the communities we serve. Rural/Metro has earned the trust of Western New York by providing safe, cost-effective and reliable ambulance service that is available 24 hours a day. This is paramount, as our crews often provide medical care to people at the most critical times in their lives.
Our commitment to excellence in the field of EMS has allowed Western New York Operations to achieve the highest standard in the ambulance industry. Since 1994, the Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) has recognized the operation as one that meets or exceeds the industry's strict standards – a standard achieved by only 1% of all ambulance services nationwide.
Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, Rural/Metro Medical Services also has satellite offices and ambulance bases in Cheektowaga, Hamburg, and Niagara Falls. Our 600+ employees are responsible for servicing 22 hospitals and over 100 nursing homes and health care facilities, as well as the over one million residents of Western New York.
